Conceptions

This is not creative. Or profound. Or thoughtful. This is not provoking. Or even necessarily important. But it is nonetheless true. One needs a companion. Not a familiar thought, an overpowering longing or an overturned picture frame that you can't bear to look at but can't help but think about. One needs to discard all preconceived notions of love and accept the fact that the things you read about in books are exactly that. Words. Ideas. Fantasies. They are not reality or life or even common practice. They are confessions of the imagination. Confessions of love and longing and lust and loneliness. We all long for a soulmate but end up with distant thoughts. 'Why am I alone?' 'What am I doing wrong?' 'Why can't I just be beautiful?' Because that's what it all boils down to. Societies conception of beauty and normalcy. It is what we expect and what we are deprived of. Because there is no such thing as perfect. We are all abnormal. We are all flawed. This is what we need to see. We mustn't think about why we aren't beautiful but rather what makes the beautiful people better than you? Nothing. We are as close to perfect as they are. We need to stop looking for perfection and accept the fact that it is nowhere to be found. Don't look for someone who is perfect. Look for someone who's idea of perfection is the same as yours. Only then you can look out across the water and see truth. Not perfection, truth. Truth is beautiful. Acceptance is beautiful. Together, is as good as its going to get. And that's pretty close to perfect.
